CREATIVITY INITIATIVE MAKES MAJOR ART SUPPLY DONATION TO LONE STAR COLLEGE

OAK HARBOR, WA – March 12, 2025 – The Creativity Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression, has made a significant donation of art supplies to Lone Star College in Texas. The donation, consisting of 54 cartons of mixed media paper pads valued at more than $9,000, will directly benefit students in the college’s art programs.

Lone Star College is one of the largest community college systems in Texas, serving approximately 85,000 students across six main campuses in the Greater Houston area. The donation will support students in the Creative Arts programs throughout the system.

The donation included 35 cartons of A3 size pads (12 units per carton) and 19 cartons of A4 size pads (24 units per carton). Representatives from Lone Star College visited the Leda Art Supply warehouse in Texas last week to receive the donation.

“Our students will greatly benefit from your generosity,” said Mindy Coleman, Fine Arts Dean at the Lone Star College – Tomball Campus.. “We appreciate you!”

Dr. Michael Walsh, Dean of Creative Arts & Education at Lone Star College-Montgomery campus in Conroe, also expressed his gratitude: “Thank you again for this generous donation. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and contribution to our art departments. Much gratitude to you and Leda Art Supply!”

The Creativity Initiative, founded in July 2024, aims to nurture creativity, promote mental well-being, and foster environmental awareness by providing art education and accessibility to art supplies.

“At the Creativity Initiative, we believe that access to quality art supplies is fundamental to artistic expression,” said Gary Gillespie, Director of the Creativity Initiative and co-owner of Leda Art Supply. “We’re thrilled to support Lone Star College’s art department and help empower the next generation of artists across their extensive campus system.”
